- 6 oz animal crackers
- 2 tblsp unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1 tblsp sugar
- 4 tblsp unsalted butter, melted & cooled
No-Melt Peanut Butter Suet

Melt the lard & peanut butter in pot over low heat or in microwave
- 2 cups crunchy peanut butter
- 2 cups lard or bacon fat
- 4 cups 'quick cook' oats
- 4 cups cornmeal
- 2 cups white flour
- 2/3 cup white sugar
Dreamy Creamy Strawberry Ice Cream

Combine the sliced strawberries in a medium bowl with the sugar and vodka
- 1 lb. fresh strawberries, rinsed, hulled and sliced*
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. vodka or kirsch (optional)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice

- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1-1/2 cup unseasoned bread crumbs (I use whole wheat)
- 4 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 medium onion, finely minced or grated
- 1 cup fresh Italian parsley, chopped
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried leaf oregano
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1-1/2 lbs. ground pork
- 3 lbs. ground beef
Cranberry-Orange Pecan Bread

- 3 1/2 cups (1 pound, 1 1/2 ounces) all-purpose flour, plus more for the pans
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/4 cups (10 fluid ounces) buttermilk
- Zest and juice from one large orange (about 1 1/2 tablespoons zest plus 1/4 cup juice)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (15 3/4 ounces) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (6 fluid ounces) vegetable oil or canola oil, plus more for the pan
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 3/4 cups cranberries, fresh or frozen (do not thaw if frozen cranberries)
- 1/2 cup (1 3/4 ounces) pecans, lightly toasted and coarsely chopped

- 1 cup (250ml) whole milk
- A pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup (150g) sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
- 2 cups (500ml) heavy cream
- 5 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Balsamic roast chicken with caramelized pearl onions, olives and tomatoes

1 Preheat the oven to 350°F
- 1 3-lb whole free-range organic chicken, cut into 8 parts
- 1 tsp Maldon sea salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 4-oz slab smoked bacon, cut into large cubes
- 1 cup pearl onions, peeled and halved
- 1 tbsp each: chopped fresh rosemary and thyme
- 2 tbsp aged balsamic vinegar

- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast OR 1 packet active dry yeast*
- 1 1/4 cups lukewarm milk
- 3/4 cup raisins or currants (optional)
- If you use active dry yeast, dissolve it in the warm milk before combining with the remaining ingredients.
