Sarasota's Sweet & Spicy Tomato Salad Dressing

I love tomatoes in any form
- 1 tablespoon tomato puree (not paste)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 lime, juice of
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, diced fine
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- hot sauce
- salt
- pepper
Chicken Spareribs Recipe ****

In a Dutch oven, brown chicken over medium heat in oil in batches on both sides; drain
- 8 bone-in chicken thighs (about 3 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 cup water
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2/3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Classic Chicken Divan

Cook broccoli using package directions, drain
- 2 10 ounce package broccoli spears 3 Tablespoons dry white wine
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine 3 cups chicken breasts
- 6 Tablespoons flour halved and cooked
- 2 cups chicken broth 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
Garlicky Shrimp and Rigatoni

1) Toss 2 teaspoons minced garlic, shrimp, 1 tablespoon oil, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in medium bowl
- INGREDIENTS
- yields 4 servings
- 5 medium garlic cloves, minced or pressed through garlic press (about 5 teaspoons), plus 4 medium cloves, smashed
- (*note I did not use a garlic press, but instead one of those handy dandy hand mincers that did the job just great!)
- 1 pound large shrimp (21-25), peeled, deveined, each shrimp cut into 3 pieces
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- table salt
- 1 pound pasta in short tubular shapes, such as fusilli, campanelle, or mezze rigatoni
- (I used the mezze rigatoni)
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 teaspoons unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup dry vermouth or white wine
- (I used vermouth)
- 3/4 cup clam juice
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice plus 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- ground black pepper
Orange Glazed Carrots

Wash carrots scrape and split
- 10 medium carrots
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon grated orange rind
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon butter
Coconut Cranberry Bars ******

Combine cracker crumbs and butter: press into a greased 13 X 9 inch baking pan
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs-----about 24 squares
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine melted
- 1 1/2 cups vanilla or white chips
- 1 1/2 cups dried cranberries
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 cup pecan halves
Sour Cream Cranberry Coffeecake Recipe

In a small bowl combine the cranberry sauce, cinnamon and chopped walnuts; set aside
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole cranberry sauce
- 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
Mexican Wedding Cakes

Mix ingredients. Roll into balls
- 1 cup margarine 2 cups sifted flour
- 4 Tablespoons sugar 1/2-cup nuts
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- Mix ingredients. Roll into balls. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Roll in powdered sugar while hot.
Moist and Tender Turkey Breast

A girlfriend told me about the mayo trick when I was first married and I've never roasted a turkey or turkey breast...
- 1 (5 -20 lb) fresh or frozen turkey breast (thawed) or 1 (5 -20 lb) turkey
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 12 ounces chicken broth or 12 ounces beer or 12 ounces white wine
- 1 -2 tablespoon mayonnaise

- 1 1/2 cup skim milk
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 3 cups low fat creamed cottage cheese
- 1/3 cup graham cracker crumbs (5-6)
- 1 /4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
