Tomato Mozzarella Tart with Basil Garlic Crust
- For the dough:
- 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1-2 cloves garlic
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 8 tbsp. unsalted butter, chilled and cut into 8-10 pieces
- 4-5 tbsp. ice cold water
- For the filling:
- 8 oz. fresh mozzarella, sliced
- Ripe cherry tomatoes
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1-2 tbsp. minced fresh basil

Directions Place crust on a pizza pan or baking sheet
- 1 (14 ounce) package pre-baked Italian bread shell crust
- 3 tablespoons prepared pesto
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

- 8 slices bacon - cooked, crumbled and divided

- 1 teaspoon minced garlic

- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons water

- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3/4 pound sweet or hot Italian sausage, cut into chunks
- 3/4 pound skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into chunks

- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 Italian green frying peppers, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 3 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 cup roughly chopped fresh parsley
- 2 jarred pickled cherry peppers, chopped, plus 2 tablespoons liquid from the jar

- 3 firm ripe tomatoes
- 1/2 cup white flour
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 2/3 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Sour cream, for garnish

- 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded Monterey jack cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa or picant? sauce
- 1 (4 ounce) can diced green chiles
- 1/2 cup sliced scallions
- 1 (4 1/2 ounce) can chopped black olives, drained
