PREPARATION: Remove paper from panettone
- 1 2 pound loaf panettone
- 4 large eggs plus 2 yolks
- 1 ‑1/2 cup half n' half
- 1/4 cup amaretto liqueur
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- zest grated from one orange
- 5 ‑6 tablespoons butter, as needed

- 4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese, (1/2 cup)
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
- 3 tablespoons capers, rinsed and chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme, or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
