Lemon Buttermilk Pound Cake

1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and set an oven rack in the middle position
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened

- 1 cup buttermilk (low fat is fine)

- 1-1/2 cups (12 ounces) canned 100 percent pure pumpkin
- 2 cups vanilla cake mix
- 1/2 cup whole milk, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, at room temperature
