Pie - Contest-Winning German Chocolate Pie Recipe

1.Preheat oven to 400°. On a lightly floured surface, roll pastry dough to a 1/8-in
- FILLING:
- Pastry for single-crust pie (9 inches)
- 4 ounces German sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1-1/2 cups whole milk
- 2 egg yolks
- TOPPING:
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, cubed
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1-1/3 cups flaked coconut, toasted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
Fettucini Alfredo

Cook noodles but do not rinse On low heat melt butter, add cream, and cheese
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 6 tbsp Heavy Cream
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese
- 8oz pkg of Egg Noodles
Sweet Potato Casserole

Great for Thanksgiving
- Bottom:
- 3 cups sweet potatoes ( 6-7 for large group, 3-4 for small group)
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- (combine ingredients to spread over casserole mixture)
Sweet Potatoes

Cut potatoes into bite size pieces Put in deep oval corningware Mix brown sugar and cornstarch
- 2 1/2 lb sweet potatoes, peeled/steamed/chunked
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1 cup prepared orange juice
Black Bean Salad with Papaya

Combine black beans, diced papayas, tomatoes, and onion in a large salad bowl
- Dressing:
- 2 cans (15 oz. each) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 large papaya, peeled and diced
- 2 vine-ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 medium red onion, diced
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
Cookies - Oatmeal

Mix cream, sugar, and shortening, then add vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sour milk (add 1 tsp lemon juice to 1/2 cup milk and let set for 10 minutes)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 1 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla

- 1 package Knorr vegetable soup mix
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 1 box frozen spinach, thawed
- 2 loaves round peasant bread

Instructions Put all ingredients in a large Crock Pot or slow cooker Cook on low for 6-8 hours When finely chop
- 3 28 oz cans whole tomatoes (low sodium)
- 1 cup finely chopped celery
- 1 cup finely chopped carrots
- 2 cups finely chopped sweet onion
- 32 oz (1 quart) vegetable broth
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic (4 cloves)
- 1/4 cup packed basil leaves (additional for garnish)
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper (white if you have it)
- Parmesan Cheese shredded (for garnish)

- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. garlic, finely chopped
