Melt shortening and cool slightly
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 - 6 1 - 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate
- chips or butterscotch chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Clausberry Cookies

In a large bow, stir together oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon
- 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 - 12 oz. pkg. white chocolate chips
- 1 cup dried, sweetened cranberries
Savory Pasta

Place all ingredients (except tomatoes) in large saute pan on medium heat and cover
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 (19 oz) package frozen cheese tortellini
- 1 package frozen broccoli with cheese sauce (10-12 oz)
- 1 (14.5 oz) can herb/garlic diced tomatoes, drained
Mom's Sour Cream Cucumbers

- 2 cucumbers
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- salt and pepper to taste

Mix flour with baking powder, salt, and baking soda; set aside

Baked Potato Casserole

- 8 medium potatoes peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 cup carnation evaporated lowfat 2% milk
- 1/2 cup light sour cream
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 2 cups (8 oz. pkg.) shredded 2% cheddar cheese, divided
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- sliced green onions, optional
York Sensational Brownies

- 1 1/2 cups butter,melted (3 sticks)

English Cottage Pie

Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 3 large carrots, finely chopped
- 1-2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1/2 tsp, chervil
- 1 tsp. fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. dried sage, crumbled
- 2/3 cup dry red wine or beef broth
- 3 about 3 cups mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
BLT Macaroni Salad

In a large bowl combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, chili sauce, and sugar; mix well
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 3 cups cooked elbow macaroni
- 2 Tbsp. chopped green onions

- 3 Tbsp. chili sauce or hickory
- flavored BBQ sauce

BACON-CHICKEN CRESCENT RING

- 2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated
- crescent rolls
- 1 can (10 ounces) chunk white
- chicken, drained and flaked
- 1 -1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded
- Swiss cheese
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup finely chopped sweet red
- pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
- 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
