  • 1 c chopped pecans (opt)
  • Topping/Spread:
  • 1 8-oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 c reserved strawberry syrup

  • Hot water to cover

  • 5 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 mediums Onions; (225 g / 8 oz)

  • 1 tablespoon Ground coriander
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon Ground turmeric

  • 1 small Can tomatoes
  • 150 millilitres Warm water; (5 fl oz)
  • ½ teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • 1 Black cardamoms; split open the top

  • 4 Whole cloves
  • 1 2 inch piece cinnamon stick; broken up
  • 2 Bay leaves; crumpled
  • 2 tablespoons Thick set natural yoghurt
  • 2 tablespoons Ground almonds
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped coriander leaves
