Soft White Dinner Rolls

Dinner rolls from King Arthur Flour
- 1 packet "highly active" active dry yeast; or 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast; or 2 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 7/8 to 1 1/8 cups lukewarm water* (I used 1 cup in winter)
- 3 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
- 1/2 cup instant mashed potato flakes
- Use the lesser amount in summer (or in a humid environment), the greater amount in winter (or in a dry climate), and somewhere in between the rest of the year, or if your house is climate controlled.
Double Chocolate Dream Cookies

1. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamy
- 1 c butter, softened
- 1 c brown sugar
- 3/4 c sugar
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/4 c flour
- 1/2 c baking cocoa
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c milk chocolate chips
Classic Lemonade

Pour lemon juice through a fine sieve into a pitcher
- 3 c fresh lemon juice (about 20 lemons)
- 2 c superfine sugar
- 4 c water
- ice
- lemon slices for garnish
Frosting Glue for Gingerbread Houses

Beat egg whites until fluffy and peaking
- 3 egg whites (room temperature)
- 4 c powder sugar
- 1/2 t cream of tartar
Apple Bread

1. Grease bottom only of loaf pan
- 1 c sugar
- 1/2 c shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 c flour
- 1 t cinnamon
- 2 c chopped apples (4 apples)
- 1/2 c chopped nuts
- 1/2 c raisins
- 1 t baking powder
- 1 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/4 t cinnamon
- 1 T sugar
Fruit Cocktail Salad

Drain canned fruit well. Mix ingredients together and let sit in refrigerator over night
- 2 cans fruit cocktail
- 2 cans pineapple chunks
- 3 small cans or 1 large can mandarin oranges

Orange Iced Cranberry Cookies

- 2 c powdered sugar
- 2 T butter, softened
- 1 t grated orange peel
- 3 T orange juice
Sugar Cookies with Pink Cherry Buttercream

- Cookies:
- 1 1/2 c (3 sticks) butter
- 2 c sugar
- 3 eggs
- 4 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 4 c all-purpose flour (add additional 1/3 c if sticky)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Frosting:
- 3 c powdered sugar
- 1/2 c (1 stick) butter
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/4 c maraschino cherry juice
