Salted Brown Butter Crispy Treats

Butter (or coat with non-stick spray) an 8-inch square cake pan with 2-inch sides
- 4 ounces unsalted butter
- 10 oz marshmallows
- Heaping 1/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt
- 6 cups Rice Krispies
Apricot Mustard

1. Mix apricots, mustard seeds, ground mustard, and 3/4 cup water in a bowl
- 4 ounces dried apricots
- 4 1/2 teaspoons yellow mustard seeds
- 4 1/2 teaspoons brown mustard seeds

Grilled asparagus with orange dipping sauce

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh tarragon
- 1 pound asparagus, peeled and trimmed
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon anise seed, crushed
Salmon & Wild Rice Soup

Christmas Eve soup!
- 3-slices bacon, cut into 1/2 in pieces
- 1 med. onion, diced
- 1 med. stalk of celery, thinly sliced
- 4 oz canned mushrooms or 8 oz fresh, sliced and sauted
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp dried rosemary leaves
- 1 cup cooked wild rice or a mixture of wild and long grain rice
- 2 cans (10 oz)condensed chicken broth
- 1 cup half and half (or milk)
- 1 can or approx. 2 cups of cooked salmon drained and flaked.
Parsley Potatoes

- 2 lbs. Small red potatoes
- 2 T. coarse salt
- 2 T. unsalted butter
- 2 T. chopped parsley

Pickled Garlic

- 4 cups white-wine vinegar
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 small dried chili peppers
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 lemon
Firecrackers

- 1/2 pound mini carrots
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
