Mix the flour, salt and yeast in a bowl
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more as needed
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
- Cornmeal, wheat bran or extra flour, as needed
Vanilla Sour Cream Frosting

Prep: 10 min. In large mixing bowl combine butter, sour cream, and vanilla
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 8 cups powdered sugar
- Buttermilk or milk
Autumn Chopped Salad

Peel a large sweet potato and slice lengthwise into 3/4-inch planks
- 3 strips romaine lettuce; chopped
- 1 cup fresh chopped apple
- 1 cup fresh chopped pear
- 1 cup roasted sweet potato; cooled and chopped
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup toasted walnuts or pecans
- 1/4 cup sunflower kernels
- 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese
- DRESSING
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup white balsamic vinaigrette
- 1 tablespoon honey salt and pepper
Homemade Nitrate-Free Corned Beef

Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 11 hours Makes: 6 servings
- 2-3 lb organic beef brisket
- 2 cups water
- 2 bottles beer
- 2 T sugar
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 t peppercorn
- 1 T mustard seeds
- 1 T whole cloves
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/2 t whole allspice
- 1 whole cinnamon stick
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 10 shallots, peeled
- 6 carrots, peeled
- 2 parsnips, peeled and quartered

- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- pinch of ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup low fat plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp. ginger, freshly grated
- 2 tsp. lemon zest (almost 1 lemon) finely grated
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 1/4 cup golden raisins
- 1 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1 1/4 cup walnuts, toasted and lightly chopped
Southern Banana Pudding

Heat 2 1/2 cups of the milk in a large saucepan over medium heat until steaming
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- Kosher salt
- 4 large eggs, separated, yolks lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 3 ripe medium bananas (about 1 pound), thinly sliced crosswise (about 2 1/2 cups)
- 50 vanilla wafers, such as Nilla Wafers (about half a box)
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cloves
- 2 cups packed dark-brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 cups chilled pumpkin puree
- 2 large eggs
- 1 /2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 /2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Orange Pound Cake

Heat the oven to 350 degrees
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
- 4 extra-large eggs, at room temperature
- 1/3 cup grated orange zest (6 oranges)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice, divided
- 3/4 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
Friendship Tea

Mix all ingredients well. Add 2-3 heaping teaspoons of the mix to boiling water in your favorite mug
- 3 cups powdered orange drink
- 1/2 cup powdered lemonade
- 1 1/2 cups instant sweetened tea
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
Sparkling Lemonade

- 1 quart water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- Sparkling water – like Perrier (not tonic water)
