Crock Pot Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2/3 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup Sprite or 1/4 cup 7-Up soda
- 2 -3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon pepper (regular black or cayenne)
- 1 pepper (green or red), chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped

- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (see note below for substitutions)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 egg
- NOTE: some dogs are allergic to flour/wheat. if you want to make these wheat free, you can use rice flour of coconut flour as a replacement. they will work, but might change the consistency a bit. thanks so much to the readers who wrote it about this!

Directions: Place the chicken breasts on the bottom of your slow cooker
- 4 raw, boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 8 oz. each)
- 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans (rinsed and drained) or 1 1/3 cup home cooked beans
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans (rinsed and drained) or 1 1/3 cup home cooked beans
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes in juice, low sodium is best
- 1 pound frozen and thawed organic corn (organic to avoid GMO corn)
- 1 (12 ounce) jar of your favorite salsa, no sugar added

- 2 six-inch sprigs fresh basil with leaves attached

- 2 pork tenderloins, sliver skin removed
- 3 cups apple wood chips (750ml)
- Rub
- 1/4 cup coarse salt (kosher or sea) (60ml)
- 3 tablespoons sweet paprika (45ml)
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder (30ml)
- 2 tablespoons onion powder (30ml)
- 2 tablespoons dried thyme (preferably ground) (30ml)
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano (30ml)
- 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper (15ml)
- 1 tablespoon freshly ground white pepper (15ml)
