Mushroom Rice

Side Dish
- 1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 can beef broth
- 1/2 cup raw rice
Pralines

Pralines are best made when the weather is dry--humidity tends to make them grainy
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 5 cups toasted pecan halves
Banana Tea Bread

My mother's recipe from when she took home ec in college
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsps vanilla
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 1/2 cup butter melted (original called for fat)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Grits for Shrimp and Grits

- 3 cups grits
- 9 cups chicken stock
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 3 tsp salt
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
Lasagna

- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 carton Ricotta cheese
- 4 eggs
- Parmesan cheese
- Italian season
- No cook Lasagna shells
- 2 large cans pasta sauce
- Mozerella cheese
Cheese Sausage Strata

Great for Breakfast
- 1 1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
- 9 eggs, lightly beaten
- 3 cups milk
- 9 slices of bread cubed
- 1 1/2 (6 oz) cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 to 1 1/2 tsp ground mustard
Apple Pie Filling

Mix all ingredients together and pour into bottom crust
- 6 Granny Smith apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Hashbrown Casserole

- 1 stick melted butter bag of hashbrown potatoes,
- 1 small onion thawed
- 2 cups mild cheddar cheese
- grated
- 1 (8oz) carton sour cream
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
