- 3 cups whole-wheat bread, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
- 3 large, red tomatoes, cut into wedges
- 1 cup pitted black olives, halved
- 3/4 cup chopped, fresh basil leaves (about 1 bunch)
- 2/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more for seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more for seasoning
Homeade Veggie Patties

Directions: In a medium saute pan over medium heat, add 1-ounce olive oil and all raw vegetables except beans

- 2 cups firmly packed dark-brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil

- Crust:
- 1 stick unsalted butter, chilled and cubed, plus 1 tablespoon for pan
- 5 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling dough
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 cup shortening, chilled and cubed
- 1/2 to 2/3 cup, plus 2 tablespoons ice water
- Special equipment: 1 (9-inch) pie tin
- Filling:
- 5 cups blueberries, discard any small or overly soft berries
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1/2 stick unsalted butter, cut into small cubes

- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup natural cocoa powder, such as Hershey's or Scharffen Berger
- 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoons fine salt
- 18 large marshmallows, (not minis)
