BIG Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a Sunset Magazine recipe I made all the time when the girls were home
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/3 cups rolled oats
- 1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate or butterscotch chips
- 1 1/2 cups nuts, chopped
- granulated sugar
Gruyère AOP Soufflé

Make a roux with the butter and flour before whisking in the milk until the sauce is smooth and creamy
- 3.5 oz (100g) Gruyère AOP, grated
- 4 eggs
- For the béchamel sauce
- 5.5 Tbsp (80g) melted butter
- 4 Tbsp (60g) flour
- 1.75 cups (400ml) milk
- Salt and pepper

- 1 ⁄2 cup white vinegar
- 1 ⁄4 tsp. crushed red chile flakes
- 14 cloves garlic, minced
