***Crisco's Super Crisp Country Fried Chicken

Mix qt. buttermilk and scant tbsp
- 1 quart buttermilk
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1 ⁄2 cup milk
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 3 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika(?)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (2 1/2-3 lb) frying chickens, cut up or 1 (2 1/2-3 lb)
- (I use chicken pieces - thighs -- not too large)
- Crisco butter shortening (for frying)
- 1 cube butter

- 2 tablespoons instant espresso coffee powder or granules
- 2 tablespoons Irish whiskey

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F
- 1 stick butter
- 18 eggs (3 per person)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon crushed white peppercorns
- 1 bunch chives, finely chopped
- 1 bunch chervil, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- Roasted mushrooms and watercress, as accompaniment, if desired
