- 3/4 cup hot water
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 3 cups cake flour, (not self-rising), sifted
- 3 sticks unsalted butter, soft but cool, cut into 1-inch pieces

KFC Fried Chicken

- 1 chicken cut up or chicken pieces
- 1 qt buttermilk
- 11 spices — Mix with 2 cups white flour
- 1 ) 2/3 TB salt
- 2 ) 1/2 TB thyme
- 3 ) 1/2 TB basil
- 4 ) 1/3 TB oregano
- 5 ) 1 TB celery salt
- 6 ) 1 TB black pepper
- 7 ) 1 TB dried mustard
- 8 ) 4 TB paprika
- 9 ) 2 TB garlic salt
- 10 ) 1 TB ground ginger

- The only addition the group felt was necessary to add to make it perfect, was MSG — confirmed as an ingredient by a KFC spokesperson.

- 1-1/2 lb. Brussels sprouts, trimmed and cut through the core into quarters
- 3 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 4 Tbs. unsalted butter
- 1 Tbs. minced shallot
- 1-1/2 Tbs. freshly squeezed lemon juice; more to taste
