  • For meat sauce:
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1-1/2 to 2 cups chopped onion

  • 8 6-oz cans tomato paste
  • 2 106 oz cans crushed tomatoes
  • 8 6-oz cans water (10 for thinner sauce)
  • 8 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 TBSP sugar
  • 14 fresh basil leaves - chopped
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 peeled potato
  • 4 pounds lean ground beef or turkey meat - sauteed in separate pan, drained.
