Allow eggs and sparkling water to come up to room temperature first
- 2 cups flour
- salt (about a half teaspoon)
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

- yeast / one package fast-acting yeast
- 2 3/4 sticks butter
- 7 ounces cold water (preferably sparkling water)
- 9 1/2 ounces pearl sugar

Green Tea Smoothie

Blend ingredients together in vitamix, on smoothie setting

Grilled Sausage, Fennel, and Baby Artichoke Spring Pasta

- 4 sweet sausages
- 2 bulbs fennel, quartered
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper

- 1/2 pound dry farfalle (butterfly or bowtie) pasta
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 20 baby artichokes, trimmed
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 3/4 cup walnut oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 bunch flat leaf parsley, leaves picked
Pomegranate Quinoa Pilaf

- Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup quinoa
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1/2 cup diagonally sliced scallions
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
Cole Slaw with Fennel

Toss the fennel, cabbage, scallions, and bacon together in a medium bowl
- For the dressing:
- Ingredients
- 1 fennel bulb, core removed, cut into quarters, and sliced very thinly, fronds reserved
- 1 cup thinly sliced cabbage
- 1 cup thinly sliced brocolli
- 1/8 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves
- 2 scallions, chopped
- 2 strips bacon, cooked crisp and chopped

Sugar-Cranberry Pie Tricia's

For the pie crust: Grease a pie tin with the butter
- The Crust:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 5 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups shortening
- 2/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons ice water
- The Filling:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 Anjou or Bosc Pears, peeled, cored, and cut into thin slices
- 1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
- 1 bag (24 ounces) fresh cranberries
- 1/2 handful each of dried cranberries and dried cherries
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- The Garnish:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- Vanilla or nutmeg ice cream (optional)
Peach Whiskey Beurre Blanc Grilled

Lightly oil the peach halves and put on the grill for 3 to 5 minutes to slightly soften, flavor and mark

- 3 peaches, halved and pitted
- 1 tablespoon butter, plus 8 tablespoons, cubed and chilled

- 1jalepeno, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon grated or finely chopped fresh ginger
- 1/4 cup whiskey
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1 teaspoon Agave or honey

Directions In a bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 4 teaspoons instant espresso coffee granules
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Icing sugar (confectioners' sugar)
Chocolate Strawberry Banana Smoothie

- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Brandy
- 1/3 cup sugar — or up to 1/2 cup
- BISCUITS:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter — melted and cooled
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup crystallized ginger — minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- TOPPING:
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
