For the pita chips: Place an oven rack in the center of the oven
- Pita Chips:
- Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 3 to 4 pita breads
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- Dip:
- Butter, for greasing the baking dish
- 5 strips thick-cut bacon
- 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil, optional
- 2 shallots, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- One 8-ounce bag frozen artichokes, thawed
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 cups (16 ounces) mascarpone cheese
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (from 1 large lemon)

Position the racks in the lower and upper thirds of the oven and preheat the oven to 350°F
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- l/2 teaspoon salt
- 16 tablespoons unsalted butter (8 ounces), at room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 9 ounces SCHARFFEN BERGER 70% bittersweet chocolate, chopped into chip-size chunks
- 2 1/2 ounces SCHARFFEN BERGER 41% milk chocolate, chopped into chip-size chunks
Orange Chicken over Rice

instead of frying the chicken in oil I did oven fried chicken using the egg mixture in recipe & panko bread crumbs
- Ingredients
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

- 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 orange, zested
- 1 1/2 cups orange juice
- 1/3 cup dark brown sugar

- 2 teaspoons hot pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

- 1/4 cup slightly crushed peanuts or almonds
