Lemon Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

Big, soft, sweet, light cookies with that tasty zing of lemon
- For the cookies:
- 1 cup salted, softened butter {2 sticks}
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- zest of 1 lemon
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup low-fat sour cream {because this is such a healthy recipe ;)}
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- For the frosting:
- 1/2 cup softened salted butter
- 1 lb. powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- 5 teaspoons milk {give or take a few teaspoons; see notes below}
