Molasses Softies

Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, beat together butter, sugar and egg until light and fluffy
- 1 cup butter, room temp
- 4 cups flour
- 1-1/3 cups sugar
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1-1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1-1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 3 Tbls dark corn syrup
- 2 Tbls milk
Southwest Cheddar Hash Browns

Toss all hash brown ingredients in large bowl
- 1 - 20 oz pkg Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns
- 1 med sweet yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 med green bell pepper, finely diced
- 1 cup red/yellow/orange bell pepper, finely diced
- 2 Tbls. southwest seasoning
- 2 cups finely shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt/pepper, to taste
- Olive oil cooking spray
- Salsa and sour cream, for serving
Fresh Green Bean Casserole

- 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups 2% reduced-fat milk
- 1/2 cup nonfat buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon Ranch dressing mix
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 (8-oz.) package sliced fresh mushrooms
- Vegetable cooking spray
- 1 cup French fried onions, crushed
- 1/2 cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)

Beer Basted Baby Back Ribs

- 1 (12-ounce) bottle beer

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 14 1/2 ounce can reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 1 medium potato, peeled and cubed (1 cup)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups half-and-half or milk
- Fresh snipped basil, optional

Pan Seared Strip Steak with Mustard Cream Sauce

Heat a 10-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it is very hot but not smoking, about 2 minutes
- For searing steaks:
- 2 boneless strip steaks, each 8 to 10 ounces and 1 inch thick, room temperature

- For sauce:
- 1/4 cup vermouth or white wine
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
