Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- * Unsalted butter, for the pan
- 2 1/2 * 2 1/2 cups, all-purpose flour, plus extra for pan
- 12 * 12 ounces grated carrots, medium grate, approximately 6 medium
- 1 * 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 * 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 * 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 * 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 * 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- 1/2 * 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 10 * 10 ounces sugar, approximately 1 1/3 cups
- 2 * 2 ounces dark brown sugar, approximately 1/4 cup firmly packed
- 3 * 3 large eggs
- 1/4 * 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 6 * 6 ounces plain yogurt or 1/4 cup chopped pineapple
- 6 * 6 ounces vegetable oil
- * Simple syrup
- * Cream Cheese Frosting, recipe follows
Mongolian Beef

Step 1: To make the sauce- in a sauce pan heat 2 teaspoons of oil
- 1 lb flank steak
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger (minced)
- 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice wine
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 green onions (sliced)
- 1 medium onion (sliced)
- Oil (for frying)
Bacon-Bourbon Brownies with Pecans

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- 1/2 cup pecans
- 1/2 pound sliced bacon
- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 stick plus 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 packet cup light brown sugar
- 3 tbsp. bourbon
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Blood Orange Margarita

Pour enough salt on a small plate to just cover it
- Kosher salt, for rimming the glass
- 1 lime wedge
- 1 1/2 ounces silver (blanco), 100 percent agave tequila
- 1 ounce freshly squeezed blood orange juice
- 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
- 1/4 ounce triple sec orange liqueur, preferably Luxardo Triplum or Cointreau

For mushroom butter: Place porcini in small bowl; add 1 cup boiling water
- Mushroom Butter:
- 1 ounce dried porcini mushrooms*
- 1 cup boiling water
- 4 garlic cloves, peeled
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh mint
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Turkey:
- 1 14- to 16-pound turkey, rinsed, patted dry inside and out; neck, heart, and gizzard reserved for Shortcut Turkey Stock
- 10 fresh Italian parsley sprigs
- 6 fresh rosemary sprigs

- Gravy:
- 1 pound crimini mushrooms, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped shallot
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 2 cups Shortcut Turkey Stock
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons water
- 5 teaspoons cornstarch
