- • 3 cups all-purpose flour

- • 1 cup vegetable oil
- • 2 ¼ cups white sugar
- • 3 tsps. vanilla extract
- • 2 cups grated zucchini
- • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Tomato Egg Flower Soup

- 1 1/4 cups warm water

- 6 cups chicken broth

- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 cup chopped bittersweet chocolate
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, for caramelizing the top

- 1 star anise
- 1 tbsp. hoisin sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded ginger, extract its juice
- 1/2 large head of Napa cabbage, shredded
- 3 tbsp. unseasoned rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1/4 tsp. hot pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp. toasted sesame oil
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 carrots, peeled and shredded
- 2 scallions, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp. cilantro, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped unsalted peanuts
- Hoisin sauce for serving
