Cream shortening, butter and sugar well
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1/2 c shortening
- 3 c sugar
- 5 eggs, unbeaten
- 3 c all purpose flour, sifted
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp lemon extract
- 1 small (7oz) bottle 7-Up, a scant cup
Choccolate Fondue

- 1 c whipping cream
- 3 (4oz) semisweet chocolate bars, chopped
- 2 tbs flavored liqueur, coffee or amaretta
Three Cheese Baked Pasta

- 1 (16oz) pkg ziti pasta
- 2 (10oz) containers Alfredo sauce
- 1 (8oz) container sour cream
- 1 (15oz) ricotta cheese
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 c chopped fresh parsley
- 1 1/2 c mozzarella cheese
Seven Layer Salad

- Boil asparagus for 5 minutes, dip in ice water to stop cooking process. Drain, add peas and soup. Mix. Pour in lightly greased casserole and add topping. Bake at 350* until hot and bubbly, about 20 m
Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cake

- Topping:
- 1 c uncooked regular oats
- 1/2 c butter, cut into pieces
- 1 1/4 c boiling water
- 1 1/3 c all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 large eggs
- 1 c firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 c sugar
- 1 c firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 c pecans
- 1 c sweetened flaked coconut
- 1/2 c butter, softened
- 1/3 c milk
English Toffee Cheesecake

Prepare this cake a day ahead
- Crust:
- 1 1/2 c graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 c toasted almonds, finely chopped
- 1/2 c English toffee bits
- 2 tbs packed dark brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6 tbs unsalted butter, melted
- Filling:
- 4 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 c packed dark brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbs vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 8 oz chocolate covered English toffee (Heath Bar), cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- Topping:
- 1 (16oz) container sour cream
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 tsp rum extract
- 1 tsp sherry extract
- 1 tsp brandy extract
