- 1 1/2 pounds beefsteak tomatoes, quartered
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- kosher salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (1 ounce)
American Cheese Stuffed Cheese Burgers

These simple American cheese-stuffed burgers are a quick and easy way to take your usual grilled burgers up a notch
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef, preferably chuck
- 4 (1-ounce) cubes American cheese
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 8 slices rye bread
- Dill pickle chips
Watermelon & Raspberry Dessert Salad

Gently toss all ingredients together in a bowl
- Pulp from 2 pounds watermelon, cut into large chunks and seeded
- 3 cups raspberries or blackberries
- 1 scant tablespoon sugar, preferably superfine
- Small pinch fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon framboise liqueur or crème de cassis

In a large pitcher, combine all ingredients except lovage stalks and lemon wedges
- 36 ounces vodka
- 12 ounces tomato juice, chilled
- 4 tablespoons fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 6 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce, plus more to taste
- 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish, plus more to taste
- 2 tablespoons minced lovage leaves, plus 6 lovage stalks, for "straws"
- 6 lemon wedges, for garnish
