Creamy Onion Canapes (Paula Deen)

- Paula Deen’s Seasoned Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 8-ounce package of cream cheese
- 1 package of white sandwich bread
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 onions cut into rings
- Black and red pepper
- Paprika
- Mayonnaise

Make Tomato Sauce: Purée tomatoes with their purée in a blender
- Tomato Sauce:
- 1 (28-ounce) can whole tomatoes in purée
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Meatballs:
- 3 cups coarse fresh bread crumbs (from 5 to 6 slices firm white sandwich bread)
- 2/3 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 1/4 cups grated Pecorino Romano (about 5 ounces)
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 pounds ground turkey (not breast meat)
- Garlic Bread:
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons grated Pecorino Romano
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 12 hot dog or long potato buns or hoagie rolls
Watermelon Margaritas

Place 2 teaspoons sugar in a saucer
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 lime wedge
- 3 1/2 cups cubed seeded watermelon
- 1/2 cup tequila
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon Triple Sec (orange-flavored liqueur)

Roasted Tomato Soup

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
- 2 1/2 pounds ripe tomatoes, cut in half, seeded, and cored
- 1 medium onion, peeled and cut into eight equal slices
- 5 garlic cloves, peeled
- 5 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon salt

Fried Green Tomato BLT

My two favorite things combined - Fried Green Tomatoes & BLT's! Yum!
- FRIED GREEN TOMATOES
- 3 medium, firm green tomatoes
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 beaten eggs
- 2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs or cornmeal
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- SANDWICH
- 8 slices of bacon
- 8 slices of bread of choice, lightly toasted
- 7-8 pieces of butter lettuce (obviously this can be substituted), rinsed
- light mayonnaise

- 1 3/4 gingersnap cookie crumbs
- 2 TB brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk
- 1 (3.4 oz) package, cheesecake flavored instant pudding mix
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 TB lime zest
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
