- 1 1/2 cups cake flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, room tempirature
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups sugar, plus 1 tbs
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 orange zested
- 2 tbs Amaretto
- powdered sugar for dusting
- 1 pint strawberries, hulled and qartered or 3 oranges, cut into supremes

Slovak Cherry Cake

This airy cherry cake has been enjoyed in my family on many occasions
- Ingredients (serves 4-6)
- 1 1/4 cup milk (whole milk is best)
- 2/3 cup of powdered sugar
- 5 eggs (separate yolks and whites)
- 1/4 cup of unsalted margarine or butter
- 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of white flour bread crumbs (extra fine)
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1 tsp of lemon rind
- 2 cups of pitted cherries (preserved wild cherries are better because they have more flavor, but make sure to drain them well)

- 4 cups plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, divided
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3/4 pound cold unsalted butter, diced
- 4 extra-large eggs, beaten lightly
- 1 cup cold heavy cream
- 1/2 pound extra-sharp yellow Cheddar, small-diced
