- 1/2 teaspoon sassafras (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon sarsaparilla
- 1/2 teaspoon licorice root
- 1/4 teaspoon dried hyssop
- 1/4 teaspoon dried wintergreen
- 1/4 teaspoon dried spearmint
- 1/2 teaspoon cassia chips
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 cups high-proof bourbon, or more as needed
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons rich syrup (recipe below)
- Rich syrup
- 2 c Demera or Turbinado sugar
- 1 c water

- 2 cups of fresh corn, cut from the cob
- 1/3 c flour
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg, well-beaten
- 1/2 c onions, finely chopped

- Chili Soy Sauce
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. garlic, minced

- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese {use the real stuff!}
- 1/4 pound grated mozzarella cheese

Spicy Sesame Noodles

- 1 tablespoon peanut oil
- 2 tablespoons minced peeled fresh ginger
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons Asian sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon (or more) hot chili oil*
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 pound fresh Chinese egg noodles or fresh angel hair pasta
- 12 green onions (white and pale green parts only), thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped roasted peanuts
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced fresh Thai basil leaves

- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 3/4 teaspooon Salt
- 1 Egg beaten
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 6 tablespoons Onion minced, optional
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
Tortilla Soup

Combine all ingredients, bring to a simmer for 30-40 minutes
- 2-3 tbsp Ancho chili paste
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 can, diced tomatoes
- 6-8 sprigs, fresh cilantro
- 2 medium red potatoes
- 1 c corn kernels
- 1 tbsp Pasilla chili powder
- 1 tbsp Mexican chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 2 limes, juiced
- Serve with tortilla chips, sour cream and Monterey Jack cheese
