Lucretia's Sweet Potato Pie

This recipe was handed down to me from my Aunt Lucretia who preferred sweet potatoes to pumpkin
- 4 to 5 medium sized sweet potatoes (yams)
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
- 2/3 cup of evaporated milk
- 1 stick of butter (softened)
- 6 eggs
- 2 table spoons of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 deep dish pet ritz pie crusts (or your own pie crust recipe)
Nick's Prime Rib

- 1 prime rib roast, boned (4 to 6 pounds)
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
Dadgum That's Good Brine

This brine recipe is from John Mclemore's Dadgum that's good, too cookbook
- 2 cups water.
- 2 cups kosher salt.
- 2 cups packed brown sugar.
- 1/4 cup cracked black peppercorns.
- 3 tablespoons chopped garlic cloves.
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves.
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary.
- 2 tablespoons onion powder.
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger.
- 1/2 cup soy sauce.
- 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce.
- 2 gallons of ice water.
Red Lobster Alfredo Sauce

1. Heat a medium-sized sauce pan to medium, then add butter and allow it to melt
- 1/2 cup of butter (1 stick)
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
- 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan and Ramono cheese
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Spicy fried chicken

- 2 1/2 to 3 pounds assorted chicken pieces.
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt.
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
- Two eggs.
- 2 cups buttermilk.
- 3 tablespoons hot sauce.
- 1 gallon cooking oil.
- One and a half cups all-purpose flour.
- 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes.
- 1 teaspoon baking powder.
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
- 1 teaspoon paprika.
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme.
7-Up Pound Cake

This is a very delicious, yet easy to make from scratch, homemade cake
- 3 sticks Butter
- 3 cups Sugar
- 5 whole Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 teaspoons Lemon Extract
- 3 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 cup 7-Up (may use Sprite or Sierra Mist instead)
Sausage and Seafood Gumbo

I love sausage and seafood
- 1 tablespoon Cajun spices
- 3 tablespoons oil or margarine/butter
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 bell pepper chopped
- 2 stalks of celery cut into 1/4 inch slices
- 2 U-shaped links of smoked sausage
- 1 14 oz. can diced tomatoes, with juice
- 1 pound fresh or frozen okra, cut into 1/4 inch slices
- 1 pound raw shrimp, shelled and deveined
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
- 1 bay leaves
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 or 3 crab clusters or 1 pound of imitation crab meat
- 2 tablespoons of hot sauce (more or less to taste)
- cooked long grain white rice
Carolyn's Cornbread Stuffing

This stuffing recipe has been handed down through generations
- CORNBREAD
- 2 C Yellow corn meal mix
- 1 C Flour
- 1 heaping tbsp of baking powder
- Add milk
- Dressing
- 1 bag of Pepper Ridge Farm Erb Seasoned Stuffing Mix
- 1 can of cream of celery
- Chicken bouillion 3-4 teaspoon granules dissolved in 1 cup of water
- 1 Green pepper
- 1 onion
- 6 eggs
- 2 tbsp of butter
- 10 shakes of sage
- 10 shakes of poultry seasoning
- 5 cups of chicken stock (or use juice from roasted turkey)
