- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 yellow onions, sliced 1/3-inch thick

- 4 pretzel hot dog buns, split
- 1/4 cup yellow mustard, plus more for spreading

- 3/4 cup white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
