- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

- CRUST:
- 1 (9-inch) Perfect Pie Dough, recipe follows, baked and cooled
- PIE:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, or 1 vanilla bean, split in half lengthwise and seeds scraped

- TOPPING:
- 1 cup fresh whipped cream
- 1 tablespoon sugar

- 1/2 to 1 whole large onion, chopped
- 4 cups long grain rice

- One 10-ounce can diced tomatoes and green chiles, such as Rotel
- 1 teaspoon cumin (or more to taste)

Apple Dumplings with White Sauce Glaze

- Apple Dumplings:
- 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
- 2 (10 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle Mountain Dew ™
- White Sauce Glaze:
- 1 box Jello vanilla pudding
- 1 cup evaporated milk
Cinnamon Apple Muffin Waffles

Preheat waffle maker to medium-low heat
- Topping Suggestions below:
- 1 box Cinnamon-Apple Muffin Mix or your favorite homemade or store-bought muffin mix
- For brunch style waffles: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of fresh blueberries with 1/4 cup water and a few tablespoons of sugar. Heat until mixture thickens. Pour over waffles, top with whipped cream.
- For dessert-style waffles: Sauté two crisp, thinly sliced apples in a tablespoon of butter. Add a handful of walnuts, some raisins and 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Cook until sugar melts and apples soften slightly. Pour mixture over waffles.

- 1 pound fusilli pasta
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
