Spaghetti and Meatball "Stoup" (thicker than soup, thinner than stew)

Preheat a medium soup pot over medium heat
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan
- 1 carrot, peeled and chopped into a small dice
- 1 medium yellow skinned onion, chopped
- 2 small ribs celery from the heart, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 3 cups tomato sauce or 1 (14-ounce) can plus 1 (8-ounce) can
- 3 cups chicken stock, available in a box on the soup aisle
- 1 pound ground beef, pork and veal mix (meatloaf mix) available at butcher counter
- 1/2 cup grated cheese, Parmigiano or Romano, plus more to pass at table
- 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs, a few handfuls
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves
- 1/2 pound spaghetti, broken in half
- 1 cup basil leaves, torn or shredded
- 1 loaf Italian crusty bread, for dunking
Blueberry Crumb Cake

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- For the streusel:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- For the cake:
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature (3/4 stick)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 extra-large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- Confectioners' sugar for sprinkling
Deviled Eggs - Pioneer Woman

- 1 dozen eggs
- 1/4 cup mayo.
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 2 teaspoons pickles, chopped

- 1 teaspoon sugar

- Hot sauce, such as Tabasco
- Salt and black pepper

- 1 28-ounce can crushed San Marzano tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chicken stock or dry white wine
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup basil leaves, torn or shredded
- 1 pound spaghetti
Roast Beef with Spicy Parsley Tomato Sauce

To make the beef roast, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F
- Roast Beef:
- 1 (2 to 2 1/2-pound) sirloin tip or chuck beef roast
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 Roma tomatoes, cut in 1/2
- 2 teaspoons herbs de Provence
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Spicy Parsley Tomato Sauce:
- 1 1/2 cups fresh flat-leaf parsley
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
