The Black Friars Cobbler

A cocktail made with Blackberries and Mezcal
- 10 fresh Blackberries
- 1/4 cup Plymouth slow gin
- 1/4 cup mezcal (such as Sombra or Del Maguey Vida)
- 3 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 Tablespoons pure cane syrup ( such as steen's)
- 3 cups (about) crushed ice
- Additional fresh blasckberries (for garnish)

- 6 strips bacon, cut in half lengthwise and then crosswise into 1\4-inch pieces.
- 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour ( ounces)
- 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 \2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 \4 teaspoon table salt
- 1 cup buttermilk (cold)

- 2 cups (10 ounces) unbleached all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespons unsalted butter,melted and cooled slightly
- 1-2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries,preferably wild,rinsed and dried (see note)
Red Lobster Cheese Biscuits

To cold water, add Bisquik and cheese, blending in a mixing bowl
- Dough:
- 1 1/4 lbs. Bisquik
- 3 oz freshly shredded cheddar cheese
- 11 oz cold water
- Garlic Spread:
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp onion powder
- 1/8 tsp dried parsley
Manila Clam Chowder

Creamy chowder; full of tender, steamed clams
- 2 cups dry white wine
- 1 cup bottled or canned clam juice, or more as needed
- 3 pounds Manila or steamer size clams, scrubbed and rinsed
- 1/4 pound sliced bacon, cut into 1/2 -inch dice
- 1 cup celery, finely diced, about 2 medium stalks
- 1 cup leeks, finely diced, white and light green part only, about 2 small leeks
- 1 medium potato, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch dice to equal about 1 cup
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups heavy cream, hot
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon thinly sliced chives for garnish

Mai tai means out of this world
- crushed ice
- 1 oz white rum
- 1 oz dark rum
- 1 \2 oz Cointreau
- 1 \2 oz amaretto
- 1 \2 oz lemon juice
- 3 oz pineapple juice
- 3 oz orange juice
- 1 \2 oz sugar syrup
- Dash of Grenadine
- Lime slice
- Mint Leaves
Cabbage Soup

A vegetable soup that is wonderful
- 6 large green onions (spring onions)
- 2 green peppers
- 1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
- 3 carrots
- 1 container (10 oz. or so ) mushrooms
- 1 bunch of celery
- 1 \2 head of cabbage
- 1 pkg. of spice soup mix 9optional)
- season to taste with pepper, parsley, curry, garlic powder, etc. (little to NO Salt!)
