Asian Noodle Cabage Salad

A great pot luck recipe
- 1 head chinese lettuce or nappa cabbage
- 4 green onions
- 1 pkg mr noodle broken up
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup seasame seeds (if you can't find these sunflower seeds work)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2/3 cup olive oil
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup white vinegar
- 3 tbsp soya sauce
Szechuan Orange Pork

Spicy but sweet with orange, this is a superb Chinese main course to serve with rice and stir-fried vegetables
- Seasoning Sauce:
- 1 lb (500 g) pork tenderloin
- 1 egg white
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) water
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) soy sauce
- 2 tbsp (25 mL) hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp (5 mL) Asian chilli sauce
- 2 tbsp (25 mL) soy sauce
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) orange juice
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) triple sec
- 1 tsp (5 mL) sugar
- To finish
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp (25 mL) julienned orange peel
- 1 tsp (15 mL) minced garlic
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) minced ginger
- 1/2 green pepper, cubed
- 1/2 red pepper, cubed
- 1 tsp (5 mL) cornstarch
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) water

An impressive make-ahead finale
- Filling:
- 1/3 pkg (1/3 pkg) phyllo dough, thawed
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) butter, melted
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) sugar
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) water
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) dried cranberries
- 4 (1 oz/30 g) squares white chocolate
- 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) 35% Real Whipping Cream, divided
- 1 tsp (5 mL) grated orange peel
- Cranberry Coulis:
- 2 cups (500 mL) fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) sugar
- 2/3 cup (150 mL) water
- 2 oranges, in segments
Jalapeno Popper Dip

Preheat oven to 350. Combine all of the ingredients into a medium bowl
- Topping:
- 6-8 slices of bacon, diced and cooked crispy
- 2 8-oz packages of cream cheese, soft
- 1 cup of mayonnaise
- 4-6 jalapeno's, chopped and deseeded. The seeds will make it fiery hot.
- 1 cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup diced green onion
- 1 cup of crushed crackers ( I used Ritz)
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
- 1/2 stick of butter, melted

- 4 tsp (20 mL) butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup (250 mL) mushrooms, sliced
