Ricotta Cheese Cookies

These soft Italian-style cookies are a hit with everyone
- Icing:
- 2 cups (14 oz.) sugar
- 1 cup (8 oz.) butter flavor Crisco
- 15 ouncesricotta cheese
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups (18 oz.) flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cup (6 oz.)10X sugar
- 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 fl.oz.) milk
- red and green colored sugar or sprinkles
Peanut Butter Cookies

These are by far the best I have ever had
- 1 cup SHORTENING
- 1 cup PEANUT BUTTER
- 1 cup SUGAR
- 1 cup PACKED BROWN SUGAR
- 3 EGGS
- 3 cups FLOUR
- 2 tsp. BAKING POWDER
- 1/4 tsp. SALT
- I usually double this recipe because they don't last long.
Molasses sugar cookies

- 4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 eggs
- sugar
Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Light, moist, delicious cookies, good for any time you want a snack
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 2 large egg, room temperature
- 2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cup milk-chocolate chips
SCONES

Moist, tasty, bites of heaven
- 4 cups ap flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tblsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 stick butter cold -- diced
- cut the butter into the dry ingredients until butter is pea sized. works great if you do it in a food processor
- 1 to 1 1/2 cup milk -- I sour the milk with a splash of vinegar)
- 1 egg - beat into the milk mixture
BEAR SAUCE

A tangy, sweet, hot dipping sauce for just about anything edible
- 4 1/2 cups WARM WATER
- 1 1/2 cups MUSTARD (15 oz)
- 1/2 cup KETCHUP
- 1/2 - 1 1/2 cups RED HOT SAUCE
- 1/2 - 1 1/2 cups CRUSHED RED PEPPER
- 1 1/2 cups WHITE VINEGAR
- 7 1/2 cups BROWN SUGAR (3 1/3 lb)
- 1 cup FRESH ORANGE JUICE
Snowball Cookies

- (8 oz) 1 cup butter or margarine
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- (9 oz) 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- (2 1/4 oz) 1/3 cup sugar
- (4 oz) 1 cup chopped nuts
- 10 X sugar for dusting

- 2 LOAVES WHITE BREAD (dried, NOT toasted)
- WATER or CHICKEN BROTH for soaking bread
- 5 or 6 ONIONS - diced
- 6 to 8 CELERY STALKS - sliced
- CHICKEN FAT or BUTTER for sauting veggies
- POULTRY SEASONING TO TASTE
- SALT & PEPPER TO TASTE
- 1 1/2 POUNDS COOKED CHESTNUTS - SHELLED
- 1 1/8 CUP CORN MEAL
- 1 CUP WATER
Honey Fleur de Lis cookies

A crisp honey cinnamon cookie, delicious with a cup of tea
- butter - 3/4 cup, plus 2 tablespoons / 200 g / 7 oz
- sugar - 3/4 cup, plus 2 tablespoons / 185 g / 5.5 oz
- unpasteurized honey - 3 tablespoons / 2.25 oz
- flour - 2 cups/250 g / 10 oz
- baking powder - 1 1/4 teaspoons
- ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
Broccoli Casserole

This can be used as a side dish or add cooked chicken and use as a main course
- 2 lb. frozen broccoli cuts - thawed & drained
- 1/2 lb. sharp cheddar cheese - grated
- 2 cans Cream of Mushroom soup
- 2 cups mayonaaise
- 4 large eggs - slightly beaten
- 1 small onion - chopped
- Corn chips OR Cheese crackers - slightly crushed for topping
- Add cooked chicken if using for main dish.
