Slow Cooker Garlic Mashed Potatoes

•Lightly coat the inside of a slow cooker with nonstick spray
- 3 pounds red potatoes, chopped
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed and peeled
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan
- 2 tablespoons milk, or more, as needed
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
Spicy Chicken Tenders

Put an oven rack in the center of the oven
- Honey-Mustard:
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup Dijon or whole-grain mustard
- Breading:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt, plus extra for seasoning
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature, beaten
- 3 tablespoons hot sauce (recommended: Tabasco)
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken tenders, halved lengthwise
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Kosher salt

- For the cakes:
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ⁄2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 ⁄4 tsp. salt

- 1/2 cup, plus 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup coarsely chopped dried tart cherries (see Cook's Note)
- 1/2 cup slivered, blanched almonds, toasted and coarsely chopped (see Cook's Note)
- Icing:
- 2 3/4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Warm New Potato Salad

Cover potatoes with water by 1 inch in a 3- to 4-quart saucepan, then bring to a boil with 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 lb small (1- to 1 1/2-inch) potatoes, preferably new potatoes
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped shallots (about 2)
- 1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard
- 1 tablespoon white-wine vinegar, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

Boil sugar, water, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and zests for 5 minutes
- 3/4 C sugar
- 1/4 C + 2 Tbl water
- 12 whole cloves
- 1 crushed nutmeg

- 1 C hot lemon or orange juice (heat but do not boil)
