Bulgur Pilaf

Melt butter in casserole and sautnion until just softened; add bulgur and sautnother 2 minutes
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups coarse bulgur
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms, about 4 ounces
- 4 cups chicken broth or bouillon
- salt and pepper to taste

- 1 box (Duncan Hines) red velvet cake mix
- 8 oz. lowfat plain yogurt
- 1 1/4 cups water
Shrimp and Pine Nut Spaghetti

1. Bring 4 quarts water to a boil in a large saucepan
- 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti
- 12 ounces peeled and deveined medium shrimp
- 2 tablespoons pine nuts
- 1 cup 1% low-fat milk, divided
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup (2 ounces) grated fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- 1/3 cup finely chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 cup torn fresh basil leaves

In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk
- ICING:
- 2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1-1/2 cups warm half-and-half cream (110° to 115°)
- 6 egg yolks, lightly beaten
- 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 3 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Spice Island® Pure Vanilla Extract
- Dash salt
- 4 to 5 tablespoons half-and-half cream

Preheat the oven to 400ºF
- 1 1/4 cups whole grain pastry flour
- 1 cup ground whole oats
- 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Roasted French Fries

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Peel potatoes and cut potatoes into french fry size sticks
- 2 lbs of russet/baking potatoes
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil ( yes that is a lot, but it is what makes these so good)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt ( or more to taste)
Traditonal Prime Rib for a Crowd

Combine rub ingredients and coat entire roast surface evenly
- 7 to 9 pound bone in HEB Prime 1 or HEB Natural Angus Beef Ribeye Roast, iwht fat trimmed to 1/8 inch thick
- OR
- 5 to 6 pound boneless HEB Prime 1 or HEB Natural Angus Beef Ribeye Roast
- Rub
- 1/4 cup ground black pepper
- 2 tbs. white pepper
- 2 tbs. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1 1 /2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

In heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, flour and salt
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 T. flour
- pinch of salt
- 8 c. milk
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 8 oz. package cream cheese
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 cups mashed fresh OR frozen unsweetened strawberries
- 2 c. heavy whipping cream
