Grandma Naffziger's recipe for divinity. I remember the smell of her old electric mixer running as she would beat this candy. She let me pour in the nuts and I thought that was the best. I got to cook with grandma a lot.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup lukewarm water
- 3 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup light karo syrup
- 3 egg whites, beaten until stiff
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve the sugar into the lukewarm water. Add the light Karo syrup. Boil until it cracks in cold water. (Light crack- 265-282°F).
Pour over the stiffly beaten egg whites slowly. Add vanilla and nuts. Beat until it drops from spoon. Must work quickly and a clear, sunny, dry day is best for making this candy.
