Thoroughly wash the mushrooms and throw them into a large stockpot
- 4 pounds white button mushrooms
- 1 litre Burgundy wine (other dry red wines will work)
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dill seed
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4 beef bouillon cubes
- 4 chicken bouillon cubes
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- Salt
- Crusty bread, for serving

Puttanesca Sauce

In a large pot heat the olive oil over medium high heat
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 6 cloves minced garlic
- 2 (28-ounce) cans Roma plum tomatoes, broken into pieces, with juice
- 1 cup tightly packed, pitted, and halved Kalamata olives
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons drained capers
- 2 tablespoons minced anchovy fillets (about 8 fillets)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried crushed basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper flakes
- Salt
- 1 pound penne pasta, cooked to al dente
Easy Pumpkin Donuts

In a medium bowl, mix the baking mix, flour, sugar and the spices
- Cinnamon Sugar:
- 2 cups baking mix, i.e. Bisquick or Jiffy
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1/8-1/4 tsp mace (start with 1/8 tsp--mace is STRONG)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup pumpkin
- 3/4 cup apple cider, apple juice or water
- oil for deep frying
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
White Bean Salad

Combine the beans in a large bowl with the red onion, parsley, optional herb of choice, salt, and pepper
- 3 15-ounce cans cannellini beans
- 1/2 cup chopped red onion
