- 1 tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) water
- 1 cup (250 mL) 35 % cream
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) + 2 tbsp (30 mL) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (250 mL) diced strawberries
- 1 cup (250 mL) fresh blackberries
- 1 cup (250 mL) fresh blueberries
- 1 cup (250 mL) fresh raspberries
- 16 sheets of phyllo pastry
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) dry bread crumbs
- Whipped cream, optional

- 2 5-ounce packages mixed baby greens
- 1 Golden Delicious apple, quartered, cored, diced

- 4 quarts water
- 1 large cut-up chicken -- preferably stewing or large roaster
- Marrow bones (optional)

- 1/2 cup chopped celery leaves plus 2 stalks celery and their leaves

- 1 medium leek -- white and light green parts, rinsed well, quartered, and cut into 1/4-inch slices
- 2/3 cup buttermilk -- at room temperature
