Steak pie

I was planning to make steak and kidney pie but had no kidneys! The result is this delicious steak and ale pie
- 2 pounds of braising/stewing steak diced
- 2 tbsp of plain flour
- 2 large onions roughly chopped
- 2 large carrots roughly chopped
- 1 stick of celery roughly chopped
- 3/4-1 pint of dark beer or ale
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 tsp mixed herbs e.g. rosemary and thyme
- 3-4 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
- splash of Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper
- 1 pack of puff pastry
Pasta carbonara

Classic carbonara, quick, simple and delicious
- 400 g spaghetti or other pasta
- 250 g bacon chopped
- 2 courgettes chopped
- 4 eggs lightly beaten
- Large handful of parmesan grated
- Finely chopped parsley (optional)
- Salt and pepper
Simple chicken curry

A simple recipe for a great curry
- 1 400g tin of chopped tomatoes
- 2 Medium onions, chopped
- Vegetable oil
- A thumb sized piece of fresh ginger, grated
- 2 Cloves of garlic, crushed and chopped
- 1-2 Green chillies chopped
- 1 tsp Ground coriander
- 1 tsp Ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- A splash of water
- 8 Skinless chicken pieces
- Half a cup of plain yoghurt
- Salt and pepper
- Fresh lime and coriander leaves to finish.
Chocolate covered banana, honey and walnut flapjacks

These delicious flapjacks are packed with energy!
- 4 oz/100g Butter
- 4 oz/100g Brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Golden syrup
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 7 oz/175g Porridge oats
- 2 mashed very ripe bananas
- 4 oz/100g chopped walnuts
- 7-8 oz/200g milk (or dark if you wish) chocolate
Sticky lemon chicken

Delcious Lemon Chicken in a sweet and sticky sauce
- 4 large chicken pieces (Legs or thighs)
- Salt and pepper
- 3 –4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 head of garlic, halved horizontally
- A few thyme sprigs or a tsp dried
- Splash of white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 lemon, finely sliced
- Bunch of parsley, chopped
Italian Chicken

Italian style chicken baked with basil, tomatoes and bacon, finished with parmesan cheese
- For the sauce:
- Olive oil
- 2 Onions finely chopped
- 1 stick of celery finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic crushed and chopped
- 2 400g tins of tomatoes
- 3 tbsp of tomato purée
- Splash of red wine
- 2 heaped teaspoons of dried Italian mixed herbs
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- A large handful of fresh basil
- Salt and pepper,
- For the chicken:
- 6-8 Chicken thighs skinned
- 6-8 rashers of smoked bacon, 1 per thigh
- Parmesan and fresh basil to finish
Super nutritious walnut and seed bread

Super healthy bread packed full of seeds and nuts
- 150 g Strong wholemeal bread flour.
- 350 g Strong white bread flour.
- 1 7g Sachet of instant yeast.
- 2 Tsp brown sugar.
- 1 Tsp Salt.
- 30 g Each of crushed walnuts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.
- 2 Tbsp olive oil.
- 300 ml Warm water.
- 2 Tbsp olive oil.
