- 1 bottle worcestershire sauce
- 1 bottle teriyaki sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke

Flu-Fighter Cookies

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- Pinch of ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 2 teaspoons finely grated lemon zest (about 1 lemon)
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 1/4 cups golden raisins
- 1 1/4 cups dried cranberries
- 1 1/4 cups roughly chopped walnuts, toasted
Mexican Red Beans and Rice

- 1 1/2 cups rice
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 3/4 cup shredded cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- Add cooked, cubed chicken for a heartier meal
Cherry Cheese Cake

This dessert is simple to make but looks so beautiful on the buffet
- Crust:
- 1 package (18.25 oz) white cake mix.
- Filling:
- 2 – 8 oz packages cream cheese
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 pint whipping cream, whipped
- 2 cans (21oz) cherry pie filling
Zucchini Relish for hot dogs

- Relish:
- 10 cups zucchini, unpeeled
- 2 large onions
- 2 green peppers
- 3 or more large carrots (more for better color)
- 3 teaspoons salt
- Brine:
- 2 1/2 cups vinegar
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 3 teaspoons cornstarch
Cranberry Salsa

A different way to use leftover cranberries
- 1/2 cup canned whole cranberry sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- Zest and juice of 1 lime
- 1 jalapeno, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 white onion coarsely chopped, covered and microwaved for 1 minute
- 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup Mexican-flavored canned tomatoes, drained and chopped
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Grandma Arlenes Spinach Salad

Hard-cooked egg recipes, this recipe is for a wilted spinach salad with hot dressing
- Salad:
- Fresh spinach
- 3 hard boiled eggs, chopped
- 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 can bean sprouts
- 1 can water chestnuts
- 1 small onion, chopped
- Dressing:
- 1 cup salad oil
- 1/2 cup catsup
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup vinegar
Make gelatin more nutrtious

Dissolve gelatin in hot water as directed on package Stir in orange juice and yogurt
- Add:
- 1 3 oz package gelatin
- Instead of cold water
- 6 oz yogurt
- 1 cup orange juice
Fresh Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce

I wanted the taste of caramel apples so I added a glaze to a recipe I had used before
- Cake:
- 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar mixture
- 4 apples, chopped small
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Glaze:
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
