Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 2 tablespoons ground ginger
- 1/4 cup peeled and grated fresh ginger
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Whipped topping such as Cool Whip
- Ground or grated nutmeg for garnish

- 28 chocolate creme filled sandwich cookies (recommended: Oreo or Newman-O's)
- 2 ounces good quality bittersweet chocolate, chopped (or 1/4 cup chips)
- 3 tablespoons soft unsalted butter
- 3 cups mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup creme de menthe
- 1/4 cup creme de cacao blanc
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- Few spots or drops green food coloring, optional

- Be sure to sift the flour to distribute the corn starch well before using it in your cake batter.
