ButterCream Icing

This is the old fashioned frosting, used in decorating cakes, in bakeries
- 1 cup Crisco Shortening
- 1 teaspoon clear (Vanilla, Almond or Butter) flavoring
- 7-8 teaspoons Milk or Water
- 1 lb. Confectioners' Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Meringue Powder
- pinch of salt
Oatmeal Apple Cookies

I can't remember where I got this receipe, but it is one of my very favorites, and good for you!!!
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups rolled oats (I use Quaker Old Fashion)
- 1 tart apple, peeled, cored and finely chopped (I use
- Granny Smith)
Carolina Caviar

Combine all ingredients in large bowl, cover and chill 8-24 hours
- 2 - 15.8 oz. cans black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
- 1 - 16 oz. bottle Italian dressing, (I use Kraft zesty)
- 1 - 11 oz. can white shoepeg corn, drained
- 1 large firm tomato, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup chopped fresh parsley, (I use Italian flat)
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Oriental Salad

In skillet heat butter. Saute until golden brown, Ramen Nooles, Almonds and Sesame Seeds
- Mix together and set aside:
- 1 package coleslaw mix
- 1 bunch green onions (chopped)
- In skillet, heat 4 Tablespoons butter
- Saute in butter untill golden brown:
- 1 package Ramen Noodles
- 1/2 cup slivered Almonds
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Seeds
- Add to butter, and bring to boil for 1 minute
- 3/4 cup oil
- 1/2 sugar
- 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
- Pour over Coleslaw mixture and blend well, serve immediately.

Place Pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet
- 1 Cup Chopped Pecans
- 1 Cup Butter
- 1 (4 oz.) Semisweet Chocolate Baking Bar, Chopped
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Cup unsweetened Cocoa
- 4 Large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (10.5-oz) bag Miniature Marshmallows
- Chocolate Frosting to follow
