Ingredients

  • 750 g(1 2/3 lbs) Onions
  • 600 g spare ribs ( the section above the pork belly )
  • 250 g red shallots
  • 3 tbsp crystal sugar
  • Ingredient A
  • 2 tbsp ea. soy sauce, cooking wine
  • Ingredient B
  • 4 Cup water
  • 1/2 Cup soy sauce

Step 1

Wash the spare ribs, marinate in A for 5 minutes. In a flat frying pan, fry both sides until golden brown. Wash the onions, cut into large pieces. Wash the red shallots, cut into slices.
Heat the wok, add 5 Tbsp oil and heat. fry the onions and red shallots until fragrant. Add B and bring to a boil; add the spare ribs, reduce to low heat, and simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Stir in the crystal sugar and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve.
