  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp margarine or butter
  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup icing sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Mix granulated sugar and cocoa in 1 qt saucepan. Stir in milk, margarine, corn syrup and salt; heat to boiling; stirring frequently. Boil. stirring occasionally, 3 minutes; cool. Beat in icing sugar and vanilla. Frosts one 8- or 9- inch cake layer.
