  • 1/4 cup reserved pineapple juice
  • 3 tbsp steak sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp finely grated, peeled gingeroot (or 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 tsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped fresh bean sprouts
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 canned pineapple slices, drained and juice reserved
  • 4 hamburger buns, split

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first 5 ingredients in small bowl. Measure 1/4 cup into medium bowl. Set aside remaining pineapple juice mixture as basting sauce.

Add next 3 ingredients to pineapple juice mixture in medium bowl. Mix well. Divide into 4 equal portions. Shape into 1/2 inch thick patties. Preheat gas barbeque to medium. Cook patties on greased grill for 5 to 7 minutes per side, brushing with basting sauce, until fully cooked,.

Blot pineapple slices with paper towels. Cook on greased grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side until heated through.

Serve patties, topped with pineapple slices, in buns.
