Ingredients
- 2 lbs. boneless beef (rig, sirloin or round steak)
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 1/3 c. precooked rice
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1 c. sour cream
- 3 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Step 1
Take the beef and cut into 2 x 1/4 x 1/4 inch strips and coat by shaking 6 or 8 strips at a time in flour, salt and pepper. Heat in skillet, 1/3 cup butter and add strips of meat and 1/2 cup onions; slowly brown on all sides. Prepare 2 cups meat broth (water and bouillon cubes). When meat is brown, add broth slowly and cover, simmer 20 - 25 minutes or until meat is cooked. Clean and slice mushrooms and brown in 3 tablespoons butter. Add mushrooms to meat, blend sour cream, tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce together and when meat is cooked, add sour cream mixture slowly, stirring all the time. Cook for 5 more minutes, stirring constantly. Do not boil. Serve over rice or noodles.
