Brusssels Sprout with Bacon

Recipe for those nights when Mary makes me try new things...I hate cabbage...This sould good...Played with lots of similar recipies...this works..

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed, larger spouts cut in half
- 3 slices think bacon, chopped
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 shallots, sliced
- 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 tsp hot chili flakes.
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup chicken broth

Preparation
Step 1
Cook bacon in a skillet over medium high heat. Remove bacon and drain on a paper towel .
Add extra-virgin olive oil to the pan drippings. Add shallots to the pan with chili pepper and balsamic viegar and cook for about 2 minutes.
Add Brussels spouts to pan, toss thoroughly . Season with salt and pepper. Cook Brussels sprouts 2 to 3 minutes stirring constantly until they begin to soften, then add broth. When the chicken broth begins to boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 10 minutes more, or until tender. Sprinkle with bacon cooked earlier and transfer to serving plate.
